Daringbil English Courses · 48 Charlotte Street, London W1T 2NS, United Kingdom

This policy explains how this website uses cookies and similar technologies. It covers what cookies are set, why, and how you can control them. The site is operated by Daringbil English Courses, 48 Charlotte Street, London W1T 2NS, United Kingdom.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site operators. Some cookies last only for your visit; others remain on your device for a set period.

A cookie is not a programme and cannot run on your device by itself. It usually holds a short identifier plus a few settings, which the site reads back the next time you load a page. Without them, a site cannot tell one browsing session from another, which is why almost every site that has a signed-in area or a form uses them.

At a glance

  • Short text files, not programmes
  • Session or longer-term
  • Read back by the site, not by other sites
  • You can remove them at any time

Cookies we use

We use essential cookies required for the website to function, such as those that maintain your session and remember form state. We may use analytics cookies to understand which pages are read and how visitors move through the site, so we can improve the content. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you across other websites.

Cookie categories on this site

Category What it does Duration
Essential Keeps the site secure and working, and remembers what you typed in the enquiry form so it is not lost before you send it. Your visit
Preferences Stores choices you make about how the site looks or behaves so you do not set them again on your next visit. Up to 12 months
Analytics Counts page visits and shows which course and school pages are read, in aggregate, so we know what to expand. Up to 24 months

We do not run advertising or social tracking cookies on this site. If that ever changes, this table is where we would add the category and its purpose before the change goes live.

Why we use them

Essential cookies keep the site secure and working correctly. Analytics cookies help us see which school profiles and course pages are useful and which are not. That information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Without analytics we would be guessing about what to write more of.

The same data tells us where people give up. If a page about comparing course formats is read but not followed by a visit to our comparison guide, that is a signal the page is not answering the question it promises to answer. We use that reading to rewrite the page, not to identify individuals.

What we read

Which pages are opened, how often, and how visitors move between the schools and courses registers.

What we do not

We do not follow you to other websites, and we do not sell or share visitor data with advertising networks.

Third-party cookies

If we use a third-party service for analytics or security, that provider may set its own cookies subject to its own policy. We choose providers carefully and do not permit advertising networks to track visitors on this site. Where a third-party cookie is used, its purpose is limited to the function described above.

Before adding a provider we check what the cookie is for, how long it lasts, and whether it can be limited to the pages that need it. Security cookies, for example, are only read when the site is checking that a request is genuine. If a provider cannot meet those limits, we do not use it.

Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies entirely or block third-party cookies while allowing essential ones. If you block essential cookies, parts of this site, including the enquiry form, may not work correctly. Browser help pages explain the specific steps for each browser.

Blocking everything

The site will still load, but the enquiry form may lose what you typed and some pages may behave oddly.

Blocking third parties

A common middle setting. Essential cookies still work, and outside services cannot set their own.

Deleting after a visit

Removes stored cookies from your device. The next visit starts fresh with no saved preferences.

If you are unsure which setting suits you, leaving essential cookies on and blocking third-party ones is the safest starting point. You can always tighten the setting later, or clear everything once you have finished reading.

Changes and contact

If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@daringbil.digital. For information about how we handle personal data more generally, see our privacy policy.

When this page is updated we revise the description of each cookie category, not just the date, so you can see what actually changed. If a cookie is removed, its row comes out of the table rather than being left in place marked as unused.

Office

For course and school questions rather than policy ones, the contact page is the faster route.

Questions we are asked about cookies

Do I have to accept cookies to read the site? +

No. Every page on this site can be read with cookies blocked. Essential cookies only matter when you use the enquiry form, where they keep your entries in place until you send them.

Does blocking cookies stop me comparing courses? +

No. The schools register and the course pages are plain pages; you can read and compare them without any cookie being stored. Our comparison guide works the same way.

Where can I read about personal data instead? +

The privacy policy covers what we collect through the enquiry form, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to remove it. This cookie policy only covers what is stored in your browser.

Will this policy change? +

Only when the cookies we use actually change. If that happens, the table in the Cookies we use section is updated first and the wording here follows, so the two never disagree.

Comparing accredited schools

If you came here from a course page, the register lists the schools we cover with their city, course focus, and accreditation state, plus a comparison guide that explains what we check and what we leave out.

Policy set

This page sits alongside the privacy policy and the terms of service, and all three are linked from the footer on every page.
