How we handle your data

Why we collect it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry about UK English courses and schools. If you have asked about a specific provider, we may use your message to prepare relevant links or information for our reply. We do not use your details for automated decision-making, and we do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

If a question is answered faster on the phone, we may call the number you gave us — nothing more than a call about the course you asked about. We never use your number for advertising, and we never pass it to a school without asking you first.

What your details are not used for

  • Selling or renting your details to third parties
  • Automated decision-making about admissions or pricing
  • Advertising networks on this site that profile you elsewhere
  • Forwarding your enquiry to a school unless you ask us to

Correspondence and enquiry records live in one place, reachable only by the staff who answer them.

Legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and maintaining the security of this website. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us.

Withdrawing consent means we stop handling your enquiry. It does not undo what we have already done with your details before you told us, and it does not affect any record we must keep for tax or accounting. If you ask us to stop, we will confirm in writing what we have removed and what we must keep.

If you ask us to delete your details, we will do so unless we are required to retain them for a legal or accounting reason. In that case we will tell you what we are keeping and why.

Cookies and third parties

This site uses cookies as described in our cookie policy. We do not share your enquiry details with schools unless you ask us to, and we do not run advertising networks on this site that profile you across other websites. Any third-party service used for hosting or security is bound by its own data protection terms.

Where else this lands

  • The enquiry form on this site collects name, surname, email, and phone.

  • Deletion requests are handled by the same email address shown above.
  • The accompanying terms for using this site are set out in the terms of service.

Questions people ask before they submit the form

Do I have to give my phone number to enquire? [+]

The form asks for a phone number so we can call when a reply is faster that way. If you would rather only be emailed, say so in the message box and we will stick to email.

Will my details be sent to a school automatically? [+]

No. We use your message to prepare links and information for our reply. A school only receives your enquiry if you ask us to pass it on, and we will confirm that in writing before we do.

How quickly will you answer my data request? [+]

We read data requests during office hours from Monday to Saturday and reply to the email you sent from. If your request is complicated, we will tell you what we are checking and roughly how long it will take.

Does this policy cover other sites I reach from here? [+]

No. This policy covers pages on Daringbil English Courses only. When you follow a link to a school or a third-party service, that site's own privacy policy applies from the moment you arrive, and it may differ from this one.

What if the policy changes after I submit a form? [+]

We date the policy at the top when we revise it. Material changes that affect open enquiries are sent to the email address you gave us, so you are not relying on catching a new version on the site.
